The room was comfortable and had it's own patio area including rocking chairs. Mario and Mercedes are very helpful with organising activities, diving in my case. At the same time they are very respectful of one's personal space. Mercedes prepares wonderful food, giving a sneak peak into Cuban cuisine and local ingredients. One can actually taste the love and care with which it was made. The little chats I had with them over breakfast or dinner, learning more about Cuba, made the food even nicer. The casa is a 10 min walk from the beach and a 5 min walk from the main street. It sparkling clean and has all the amenities one needs. They live in a beautiful house, which is well kept, with a lovely garden. Their food is delicious and easily the best place we ate in Playa Giron. We celebrated my girlfriend's birthday during our stay. Mario and his family went above and beyond to make her feel special. He was kind enough to arrange a beautiful personalised birthday cake in secret for me, complete with an amazing birthday meal. He even refused to accept payment for the cake. When she felt unwell after a bug she caught from a beach bar, his wife was so kind, offering to make medicinal teas for her. We had a wonderful time diving, and exploring the local beaches. We would thoroughly recommend. Many thanks to Mario and his lovely family for an amazing stay. Playa Giron was such a calm, chilled out place. Perfect if you want to slow things down and relax. When we arrived he explained where all the attractions were and organised for the dive bus to pick us up each morning. There's also an extra bathroom/shower if you plan to go swimming/diving on the same day that you leave, so you don't have to get in a bus/taxi all salty and sandy. Food was great, very much loved the shredded coconut in the crepes. When I wasn't feeling well one evening they made me a herbal tea which helped things settle down. This spacious self-catering house has a lovely finish, two en-suite bathrooms and a lounge area plus a dining table. There's a nice outside seating area on decking, leading to an extensive shared garden. The kitchen is quite well equipped and there's a/c and fans in the bedrooms. Drinking water is available on tap. The shower was hot with a reasonable flow. WiFi was reasonably good it's not brilliant anywhere on Galapagos. The owners were friendly and helpful with arrival and departure arrangements. The only slight issue was that the locks were a bit awkward, but the owners told us they would oil them. The property is well located on the edge of town, a short walk from bars, restaurants and the ferries, but in a pretty quiet spot. It took some organizing for the four adults to use the single bathroom but we made it AZ2 contributionsMy wife and son just returned from spending 5 nights at Casa Muyuyo named after a local tree they discovered in Puerto Ayora, Santa Cruz Island in the Galapagos. We chose this location based on its great reviews on TripAdvisor and feel very, very fortunate to have found it. They said their stay was amazing! Tatjana was a very gracious host. She answered all our questions before the trip and made my wife, son, and other family members who also made the trip feel very welcome - truly like guests in her own home. Quiet, secure, clean, peaceful, convenient to everything were adjectives used to describe their stay. "It was so relaxing it made me forget the stress of my normal life" - a quote from my wife's sister who lives in Quito. Maria Tatjana's assistant was also very helpful with daily water, advice about where to buy food, eat out, etc. Being able to cook meals at "home" made a big difference as well. La casa se encuentra en una zoca tropical y marzo es la peor temporada de calor que trae hormigas y mosquitos, y el incidente con las hormigas es una lastima y cuando yo recibí su correo le comuniqué esto a la señora que cuida de la casa ese mismo día. El problema del agua estaba fuera de nuestro control , y puede suceder a cualquier persona en la ciudad - pero fue arreglado rápidamente dentro de una hora . Si has encontrado que algunos utensilios estaban sucias , realmente le pido disculpas y vamos a ver que esto no vuelva a suceder . La mayoría de nuestros clientes realmente disfrutar de esta casa tranquila, con un precio muy atractivo , y situado en una zona muy agradable. Most of our guests love the neighborhood where the house is located, a quiet area, away from the noisy town - as you will read in other reviews. The house is in the tropics, therefore sometimes there are bugs - and Maria the housekeeper does her best to look after the property, she came that same day to take care of your complaint about ants. The water problem was beyond our control, and can happen to anyone in the town since the electrical supply is unreliable- but fortunately it was fixed quickly within an hour. If you found that some utensils were dirty, we truly apologize and we will note these comments and discuss this with the cleaner so that it does not happen again. Most of our guests really enjoy this quiet house, well priced, and located in a nice area. We are sorry it did not fit your Chile3 contributionsEl lugar está muy bien ubicado literalmente al lado de la entrada para el camino hacia Tortuga Bay, a 2 cuadras de los Kioscos, 1 cuadra de Laguna Ninfa y a no más de 10 minutos caminando al centro y puerto. María nos recibió al llegar a la casita y fue muy amable en contestar dudas, además de entregarnos un libro con mapas, restaurantes, atracciones de la Isla, ubicación de hospital, farmacias, además de un telefono celular prepago. A pesar de que la casita está publicada sin WiFi María nos conectó al Wifi al segundo día de nuestra estadía y funcionaba impecable. Solo me quedé 6 días en la cabaña y María amablemente me lavó ropa al preguntarle dónde había una lavandería cercana. El único incoveniente que sufrimos fueron las gallinas que estaban listas para empezar el día a partir de las 0330am, pero al pasar de los días nos fuimos acostubrando. It is a 5 min walk from the main pier - close enough to access everything but far enough away to be peaceful/tranquil. It is part of a complex with 2 other houses and surrounded by wall with locking security doors. Plenty of storage for clothing and a small kitchen for preparation of meals/snacks. Tatjana the owner was great in answering any questions before the trip and Maria the housekeeper was so sweet and took care of us during our stay. The house is cute, clean and has all that you need to enjoy your stay in the Galápagos.
